My older brother Keith came to visit and I wanted to post some pics of us enjoying the few hours we had together before he had to head back to Alabama. I also wanted to share the most recent picture of our little T. He is doing great and I think our first Church visit will be this Sunday. I'll be sure to post lots of pics of that day.

More friends

I know some of you have been waiting to see your face on this blog and you've had to wait for SOOOOO long. Josh and I have been traveling a little bit and now I have a minute to update everyone. Life has been somewhat of a blur since T was born. The sleepless nights could be worse but for those of you who know me, know that I LOVE my sleep! I'm adjusting pretty well I guess, he's worth it. :)I'm enjoying being a mother and Josh is the best dad a guy could ask for. This is the great life.

Pictures are of friends from church who brought us meals and the last one is of Truitt and Reese Cope.

Lovin' life

Hello friends. Josh and I are enjoying being parents. Josh's mom has been with us for the past week and again I was teary when another wonderful mother left yesterday. I have always been close to my mother-in-law and thankfully she will be back in a few weeks for Truitt's baby blessing and Jed's birthday party.

I'm looking forward to my brother Keith coming this weekend. He and his wonderful family live in Alabama so it's a really long drive. He's in TX for a wedding and will make a detour just to visit little T!

I'm getting my pics developed today so that I can fill up another memory card soon.

We've had some fun since our last post and thought we'd share. This picture I like to call "gas" and I have one coming on the next blog that captures the first meeting of Reese Cope and Truitt Ross. I think he was trying to slip her the tongue. HA! Love you all.

FREEEEEEDOM!

This post was up last week but somehow it got removed. I'm so sorry. I'll update again today if I can.

Truitt is off of photo therapy. We didn't have to go get his heel pricked yesterday, it was postponed until today. As William Wallace stated in Braveheart - "FREEDOM!!!!" He did have his circumcision yesterday and should heal just fine. I however will not be fine. My mother is leaving today and I just know I'll cry my head off. We are close and I will miss her so much.

We've enjoyed visitors and we wanted to show some pictures. Thanks for lovin' our son. We think he's pretty cute! There wasn't enough room on the site for everyone so look in tomorrow for more pics. Happy wednesday.

This super hero thing is getting old

Well, we went again to the lab to get Truitt's heel pricked for blood work and the doctor called this afternoon and told us that it just wasn't low enough yet. It's almost there. He has to wear the stupid belt for another day and then we go back tomorrow to get his heal pricked... AGAIN to see how the results come back. I'm begining to get frustrated, but I guess I can't argue with the doctor. It's going to be a rough day for T tomorrow. He gets his heal pricked at 1 and then at 2 pm he gets circumcized. Not so fun.

On the bright side he gets to meet some friends tomorrow from FL - Luke and Lindsay Norsworthy. They are in Texas for a bit and plan to stop by tomorrow morning. We have loved visitors and enjoy showing him off when we get the chance. The scheduling is always the tough part, but we love to introduce him to our friends, even if it's just for a few minutes. I plan to update the blog soon with pics of family and friends that have paid him a visit.

keep praying for that magic number to pop up on tomorrow's results so that we can get this blasted thing off.

How low can you go...

We went to the lab for blood work after a LONG night of dealing with the super belt and his number had come down from a 16.4 to a 13!!! This is a great number. The doctor told us that if it was a 12 we could stop the treatment, but for now just keep going with the treatment and we'll do blood work on Monday. This is great news and we rejoice! Thank you for your prayers. We'll post more pictures soon. Enjoy your Lord's day tomorrow.

Super hero

Hey everyone. We went to get blood labs done today to see if his jaundice has subsided and it hadn't so he now has to wear this SUPER HERO glow in the dark belt! He is so cute and I'm sure he is dreaming about having super powers and saving the day every time he shuts his eyes. This form of therapy is the best option. We were nervous about not getting to hold him when he cries and such, but it is aloud as long as he keeps that belt on. We can expect a couple of days of this at least.

I have a few cute pics so that you can see our little super hero that is STRONG and COURAGEOUS! This was an eventful day. He had his first bath thanks to Memaw and he didn't really like the wet part, but loved the warm cuddle time at the end. So cute!

Note from Kayci: Today is Josh and my 5 year anniversary. We plan to sneak away when we have 45 free minutes tonight to get some ice cream and celebrate while Memaw babysits. We both agree that it has been the best 5 years of our lives. We are so in love and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us in this phase called parenthood. I've never met a man that acted more like Jesus. His friends, family and strangers recognize it and praise our father in heaven. I can't imagine my life without him in it. God is good in you Bishop Boss Ross and you make me want to look more like Jesus too. Let's help each other get to heaven. I love you.

First things first

Despite the best efforts of family members and best friends to immerse Truitt into the ways of the Red Raiders, Longhorns, or Aggies he has made the decision to stay true to his Husker roots. (Truitt has already won the Heisman trophy on Josh's NCAA college football xbox game as a Husker) In light of that decision he pointed to the red outfit you will see below as his outfit of choice for his first Dr.'s visit. Josh has already started an intense off season program for Truitt to gain 163 lbs. in order to be ready to start as a sophomore on varsity.
Our son is doing well. He is a little bit jaundiced (where the skin is yellowish) and had to have blood drawn yesterday, today and again tomorrow. We hope that his test goes well tomorrow, but we feel confident that this is a minor problem and easily remedied. We'll keep you posted on his progress.

PS. We have loved the visitors and can't wait for all of you to meet him soon.

Holy Ground

We feel like we are on holy ground, yes even at 3 am feeding time. We are soaking in all the little moments and getting sleep when we can thanks to Memaw and Papa (Kayci's parents). Little T joined his father for prayer time this morning for about an hour. They just walked and prayed, walked and prayed. We are already asking the Lord to instill in him a heart for prayer and and the desire to be a prayer warrior for others. Enjoy our new pictures.

Home sweet home

We are home safe and sound. We are thankful for some good rest and time with family. Josh and I are so grateful for the gift of life. God is so good!
Enjoy the new pictures.

Truitt has arrived

Name: Joshua "Truitt" Ross
Arrived: 3:27 pm
Date: May 5, 2007
Weight: 6 pounds 4 ounces
Height: 20 inches

He is precious and we could not be happier. Kayci is doing well and so is baby. We will update this site with pictures as soon as possible. We are grateful for your prayers and will continue to need them in the days to come. We love you. Thank you for sharing in our joy.

The verse we have chosen to pray continually over our son is Joshua 1:9.
"Be strong and courageous and do not be afraid, the Lord is with you wherever you go."

Please take a minute to pray these words over him and feel free to post any other encouraging scripture over our son.

With unspeakable JOY,

Josh and Kayci
